Hey! We're Magda and Andrzej.
Two friends with heads full of ideas — and a place we'd love to invite you to.
Two friends who always have heads full of ideas (sometimes a bit too many) and complement each other in every way. We wanted our village to have a place where people can meet, slow down, eat homemade cake, and simply be together.
Szopka Smaków is definitely not a café we dreamed up at a desk. That's just not our style — with us, everything happened very spontaneously. The idea started growing over a Sunday coffee with cake from my mum, Anka Wypiekanka. We thought it would be lovely to share those delicious cakes and flavours with others.
And so — from all that talking — the idea for Szopka was born. And in the summer of 2025 we opened our doors.
Why Szopka Smaków? Because it's a real shed — built from wood by Andrzej, under Magda's close supervision. 😉
You'll find gorgeous homemade cakes here, baked by my mum Anka Wypiekanka in her home kitchen — from natural ingredients and trusted recipes. We also have toasts — but not ordinary ones. Three-layered, with farmhouse ham, farmhouse cheese, and the best ingredients.
You'll feel at home with us. With homemade cake, a proper farmhouse toast, good coffee, and a breathtaking view of the Tatras and Gorce. 🌿
Our values.
Quality above all
Only the best ingredients are good enough. We make no compromises about what we feed our guests.
Homemade and authentic
We'd rather do something truly and with heart than perfectly. No shortcuts, no additives — just the way it is at home.
Community first
Szopka is more than a café. It's a gathering place for local families, tourists, and cyclists passing through Gronków.
Respect for nature
We don't want to spoil what surrounds us. That's why we chose birch trees and sails over plastic parasols — because good places are built with respect for nature.

Anka Wypiekanka.
The cakes are baked by my mum — Anka Wypiekanka — at her home. Every morning, before the café opens its doors, Anka is already in the kitchen.
She's been baking for as long as I can remember. Our house always smelled of cake. She uses eggs from our happy hens, natural ingredients, and recipes she's perfected over the years. There's no room for ready-made mixes or commercial shortcuts — every cake is the result of her hands, her time, and her love of good food.
@AnkaWypiekanka is Mum's Instagram handle — and it stuck, that's what everyone calls her. She bakes not just for Szopka, but also wedding cakes, birthday cakes, christening cakes and all kinds of occasions.
Her signature — and our biggest hit of last season — is the meringue roulade. Light as a cloud, sweet, real.
“We know where every ingredient comes from — and that's how we like it.”
We're proud to be able to treat you to her cakes. 💛
Where do our ingredients come from?
When we say we know where every ingredient comes from — we mean it.
The eggs that go into our cakes are laid by our own happy hens. The cheese, ham, bacon and other products we order from small local producers we trust and know personally.
To many people this might seem like a small detail, but for us it's the foundation. Only then can we be sure that what we serve is truly good quality and tastes the way it should.
We take the same approach to coffee, syrups and all our other ingredients. We choose syrups from the Polish brand Leśne Życie, which uses only natural ingredients. Our coffee comes from a Polish roastery — because whenever we can, we choose local.

Our place.
The shed that became a café.
Szopka Smaków is not a project from a catalogue. It's a real wooden shed with character, built with Andrzej's own hands.
From the beginning we wanted everything to be natural, coherent, and in keeping with this place and nature. That's why instead of plastic we chose wood, birch trees, and a simple, cosy feel. This isn't a perfect architectural project — it's a space created with heart, our ideas, and the work of our own hands.
We want everyone who visits us to feel more like they're in someone's garden than in a restaurant. No rush, no stress — just a view that's hard to forget.
From the terrace on sunny days, you can admire the Tatras, the Gorce and Babia Góra — and there's no need to hurry anywhere. 🌿

Come visit us.
We're waiting with hot coffee, fresh cake from Anka, and a view that stays with you.
